Irrigation season/drought update

2026 Water supply update and anticipated shutoff.

  • Early Reliance on Storage: Due to extremely low streamflows from a winter snow drought, deliveries from Fish Lake and Emigrant Lake began roughly six weeks earlier than average.
  • Depleted Reservoirs: Fourmile Lake is completely depleted, causing Fish Lake levels to drop significantly faster than normal.
  • Anticipated Shutoff Date: The district expects to completely run out of water by August 1 (give or take a week).
  • Emigrant Lake Allotment: The current allotment is down to 850 A/F, which represents just 10.6% of the full allotment.

The Medford Irrigation District is working to keep the limited supply moving efficiently as long as possible. We will provide a supply update mid-July with any updated information.

The graph depicts water levels in Fish Lake over various years, showing trends for 2025 and 2026 alongside average and minimum levels.

MID, TID, and RRVID have updated the joint resource document to provide ongoing updates and support. We will keep this information current as we navigate these drought conditions together.
